This episode of Active Cooking features Roopa Ravi and her recipe for Arve Soppu Palya. “I learned this recipe from a friend. This green, leafy vegetable is easily digestible and is good for the blood.”
Salt to taste
First, wash and then cut the leaves so that they do not lose their medicinal value.
Mix the garlic, coconut, salt, and 2 to 3 pieces of dry chilies and blend it all well till it is a powder.
Now, heat the oil and add the mustard seeds, garlic, red chilies, and green chilies and fry them well. Add in the onion after the garlic has changed its colour. Fry the onions till they become translucent.
Add in the pre-boiled hesru kaalu and a bit later, add the arve soppu.
Then, add in the powdered masala. Mix them well and add salt to taste.
This dish is now ready. Serve it with chappatis or white rice.
