In this special episode dedicated to Rashtriya Poshan Maah, observed in the month of September throughout India, Anganwadi workers enact a radio drama about the scheme and the facilities that are available at Anganwadi during this month.

Anganwadi Workers, Supervisor, and CDPO, Shivrame Gowda speak with RJ Padma Priya about the importance of celebrating this month and also the specific purpose of this month. “The purpose of celebrating Poshan month is to take the message of nutrition to every nook and corner of India and to focus on complementary food, treatment, and prevention methods to address infections in children.”
Poornima mentions that Anganwadi Teachers undertake ‘jatha’ to inform the public about this month, following which, Nutrition Camps, and Awareness Sessions at Government and Private Schools are conducted. “At Nutrition Camps, food is prepared at the schools in front of people so that they get to know about the ingredients, method, and their importance.”
Events like baby showers for expectant mothers and ‘Annaprasana’ for six-month-old babies are also held in this period.
